Feast your eyes on the potential Toyota Tacoma EV concept. Technically, the electric Toyota truck hasn’t been announced with an official name, but it’s on the way.
New electrics trucks are on the way, and the Toyota Tacoma EV could be here faster than you think. Toyota has confirmed that an electric pickup truck is on the way, and the concept they revealed is shockingly small.
While we expected the Toyota Tundra EV to arrive first, Toyota revealed the mid-size concept truck during its presentation about future EV plans.
It has a four-door crew-cab configuration with a short bed, like the Tacoma. It’s also riding on massive off-roading tires like a TRD Pro model.
The 2023 Toyota Tacoma could have a brand new exterior and interior design. But the new Tacoma could also be pushed back until 2024.
While we primarily have rumors to go on, most people expect the new Tacoma to look like a baby Tundra. So, it’s safe to expect a new headlight shape that extends toward the front bumper and a massive grille.
The new Tacoma will be built on the Toyota TNGA-F platform that underpins the new Tundra and will also underpin the refreshed Sequioa.
It could game the 2.4-liter engine with 275 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque from the Lexus NX350. A Toyota Tacoma Hybrid could arrive like the Tundra Hybrid.
The current 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen could be upgraded with a larger unit. We also hope for standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Other upgrades could include a digital gauge cluster, head-up display, and a larger moonroof. We will keep you updated as we learn more.
